“Knowing Me, Knowing You” is an opportunity for mainstream and ESL pupils to use ICT to share information about their cultural customs and traditions. Project Aims "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is an exciting opportunity for pupils and members of their local community from different ethnic backgrounds to use ICT to share information about their cultural customs and traditions. During 2009 Schools and Partnerships from across Kent and the South-East will be organising with local community groups and educational providers a number of special themed events. Schools registered to take part in the project will have the opportunity to participate in some or all of these. They will include: The Food we eat! An opportunity to share favourite cooking recipes and take part in online cooking demonstrations Music and Dance An opportunity to learn new dances and take part in online music festivals with other schools across the region. Art and religious festivals An opportunity to publish your Art online and take part in art workshops led by Artists from different faiths Stories from different cultures An opportunity to i) publish audio and videos of well known traditional stories and ii) Orally re-tell stories you know Where I live Publish and share with others information about your local community and the people who support you. Sharing our work with others Every school who registers to take part in the project will be given a log-in and access to the “Knowing Me, Knowing You” project micro-site. Here teachers and pupils will be able to download resources, find out about forthcoming events and publish work by their pupils. This could include:
