The River Medway Project was an opportunity for schools within the Maidstone 1 cluster to embed ICT within the curriculum in a more creative manner.

Outcomes of Childrens' work

Examples of childrens' work included:

• Newspaper reports based on historical recent events involving the River Medway or about the activity day at the Museum of Kent Life.
• Poetry
• Artwork
• Musical compositions using the Zoom H2 voice recorder and Audacity
• Podcasts
• Explanatory texts
• Recounts
• Multimedia presentations using PowerPoint and Photostory
• Re-enactments films using Movie Making software such as Window Movie Maker

Equipment provided

Each school within the Maidstone 1 cluster was provided with the necessary equipment needed to take part in the project and to ensure ICT is embedded effectively: a Zoom H2 voice recorder, a web cam, a Canon Cyber shot 7.1 Mega pixel camera, a tripod and a video camcorder.
