You will need: simple
paint program.

Demonstrate the
effects that different tools create on the screen: paintbrush, spray can,
flood fill. Encourage the children to experiment with different tools,
using the undo button to modify their ideas.

In talking pairs, ask questions
about the space monster:
What colour is it?
How many legs has it got?
How does it move?
Ask the children to create
the space monster that they have described on screen, selecting appropriate
colours and tools.
Observe and discuss with
the children why they have chosen the colour or tool and how they might
change or improve their ideas on screen.
Ask the children to print
their work for display.
