World Cup
The 2006 World Cup is being held in Germany from June 9 to July 9, 2006.
The world cup is held every 4 years and the winning team will receive the solid gold trophy.
England plays their first World Cup game against Paraguay on June 10.
There are 32 countries playing against each other in this years world cup:
- Group A: Germany, Costa Rica, Poland, Ecuador.
- Group B: Italy, Ghana, USA, Czech Republic.
- Group C: England, Paraquay, Trinidad & Tobago, Sweden.
- Group D: Brazil, Croatia, Australia, Japan.
- Group E: Argentina, Ivory coast, Serbia & Montenegro, Holland.
- Group F: France, Switzerland, South Korea, Togo.
- Group G: Mexico, Iran, Angola, Portugal.
- Group H: Spain, Ukraine, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia.
The first two teams to play, will be Germany against Costa Rica.
