ClozePro
is the latest addition to the Cricksoft
range of software. Users of Clicker will recognize the format of a
split screen with a grid and text space above, and the same facilities
for hearing the words in the cell and the text.
The real advantage of ClozePro is that it enables the teacher to produce
Cloze activities linked directly to the text being studied in Literacy,
or to any topic in Numeracy,Science or the foundation subjects. It
is suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils and may also be used for
picture matching with very young children. It allows teachers to produce
differentiated activities for all abilities and it is suitable for
children with special needs, including switch users.

Cloze
activities may be created quickly, either by cutting and pasting
from sources such as the Internet, or typing your own text. Pictures
and animations may also be included. The selected text appears in
the top half of the screen.It is then possible to remove words from
the text and ClozePro creates a grid which appears below the text.
It is easily customized to suit the age and ability of the pupils.
For example, the grid may be replaced with a drop down list of words
for each gap in the text, making it look more appropriate to upper
Key Stage 2 pupils.
It has the same comprehensive picture library as Clicker 4 and it
is also possible to insert pictures from other sources.
The gaps in the text can be set to represent the number of characters
or words. It is also possible to show a blurred outline of the missing
words.
The prompt tool allows children to see the missing word letter by
letter, to see the word flash for so many seconds or to reveal the
answer. It may also be turned off.
It
is possible to link activities as in Clicker by saving with the
same name and a number without a space.
ClozePro
generates a report for each pupil. This allows the teacher to see
the percentage of correct answers for each activity and to track
a pupil's progress.
The
Cricksoft website has a growing bank of free resources which may
be downloaded once you have purchased the software.
