SMART's Notebook software 9.5 supports video content in two formats; FLV (Flash Video) and
SWF (Shockwave Flash). This means that other video formats such as windows movie and AVi files need to be converted to a fla file.

You need to download and install Media Coder from Source Forge. (Click on download Installer)

How to convert a video file using Media Coder

1. Open Media Coder and click on Add File
   
2. Browse to select the file that needs converting.
3. Highlight it in the box so that it is selected
   
4. Click on the Video tab at the bottom left hand side of the screen and change the Format and Container to Flash Video.
   
5. Click on the Start button on the menu icons at the top of the page.
6. A message will appear when the 'transcoding' is completed. Click OK.
   
7. The converted viseo will appear in the folder of the original video.
8. Save your settings by clicking on File > Save Current settings. This will mean that in future you can leave our instruction number 4.
   

To insert the 'new' video into Smart Notebook

1. Open a Notebook
2. Select Insert > Flash Video File
3. Browse to the video file that you want to insert and press open.
