Planning the presentation

Advance planning was critical. The children were divided into two groups of six and after some discussion one group chose pollination and the other group seed dispersal.

The children then worked individually or in pairs to plan their slides on paper, and create a storyboard.

Some children chose to draw detailed pictures, which could later be either scanned or reproduced on the computer using our painting program, Colour Magic.

Others decided to bring fruit into school to take pictures of the seeds using the school's digital camera. They could then download the pictures into their presentation.

Inserting pictures is simple in PowerPoint.

After the picture has been saved into a folder on your computer, select Insert> Picture> From File ... and browse to select the file you require.

Picture files can be drawings that the children have created, digital photographs, scanned work, etc.
