Adding Action Button Hyperlinks to slides

Index slides were introduced at various points of the presentation to enable the viewer to move between the slides as they choose, rather than following a set order.

This was achieved by adding links between slides, called 'hyperlinks'

Note: It is important to save the presentation before adding links. If you insert a hyperlink before you save, you can't create a relative link. Relative links let you move slides that are linked together without breaking the link between them.

Skills we had to teach the children

On a slide, select the area that you want to use as a link to another slide.

On the Slide Show menu, click Action Settings

To jump by clicking the selected object, click the Mouse Click tab
To jump by moving the mouse over the object, click the Mouse Over tab

Click in the Hyperlink to... button and select Slide

Select the slide you want to jump to.

The children found it easier to add a hyperlink to a ready-made shape, such as an Action Button. Point to Action Buttons on the Slide Show menu, and then select the button you want. Then follow steps 4 and 5 above.
