What about pictures on the Tablet PC? |
Being able to draw directly onto the screen makes the Tablet PC an excellent tool for artwork. Ben and Olivia tried to draw a picture of Mr. Potato Head on a laptop (using a mouse) and on the Tablet (using the pen). They both preferred using the Tablet because of the greater control, and simply because of how easy it was.
Ben and Olivia also showed some Year 2 and Reception children how to draw a picture on the Tablet, with some excellent results. I was surprised at how quickly the younger children were able to pick up the pen and start drawing. They were able to select their colour from the palette and produced pictures of a high standard. The screen is also pressure sensitive. Depending on the software used, pressing harder on the screen results in a thicker line, giving even greater control. When used for artwork, the Tablet definitely has the advantage.
