Working with Animations at Key Stage 2

TARGET PERSONNEL:
All primary teachers who want to use and develop animation at KS2.
COURSE AIMS:
To support teachers in using animation software; to identify curriculum contexts and explore opportunities for creative work by pupils.
COURSE OUTLINE:
  • The course will be based on current software including 2Animate (2Simple Software), Flux Time and Pivot Stick Animator (on-line resources).
  • Methods of capturing images will be covered, including webcams and digital cameras.
  • Teachers will be shown how to export animations and use within other programs including Power Point and 2Create.
  • The course will also cover sources of story ideas, story and script development, editing and sound effects.
  • Teachers will also have the chance to create their own short film using stop frame animation techniques.
COURSE BENEFITS:
Increased confidence in the delivery of animation at KS2. Teachers will gain confidence and skills in supporting pupils' use of animation software. They will be able to identify curriculum opportunities, and support learners in planning stories, developing scripts and applying stop-frame animations techniques to create a short film.
OTHER INFORMATION:
2AnimateCourse delegates will each receive a copy of 2Animate. A USB Memory stick would be useful to save work produced on the day.
