Numeracy Starting Points

A series of resources have been provided to be used as whole class starting points for topics within the Numeracy Hour. These have been divided into the Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2, although resources may be appropriate across the phase.

N.B. We would advise that you right click on the resource, select "Save Target As", save the file onto your hard drive and then open from that location. See the resources key to find out which software is required to open these resources. (Some resources contain images and may take a few minutes to download.)

2D Shape Presentation
A Powerpoint presentation reinforcing the properties 2D shapes including circle, triangle, square and rectangle. Properties of these shapes are revealed and children have to guess what they are!

Digital Time
A Textease screen where digits can be moved to record the time on a digital clock.

As a class record time on an analogue clock and record on digital clock counting the number of minutes. Can you show quater past four on the digital clock?

3D Shape Presentation
A Powerpoint presentation reinforcing the properties of 3D shapes including sphere, cube and cuboid.

Pattern Introduction
A simple Powerpoint presentation investigating patterns of shape and colour. Children have to predict what will come next!
