What is Infomapper?

Infomapper is an online mapping tool that enables children to:

i) view maps and aerial photographs of a region and

ii) create their own maps (layers) displaying resources (text, spreadsheet, video and audio) for other Infomapper users to view.

Kent River Watch 2007

Pupils work from five of the schools who participated in the Kent River Watch 2007 Project has been uploaded and published on Infomapper. To visit the Infomapper web-site: www.Infomapper.com and log-in using the details below:

Log-in: teacher1@kent.gov.uk
Password: kent

To view the work from each school then:

  • Select Resource Library and search Layers
  • Type “River Watch” in the “Search For” box to display all the layers

The following layers will be displayed:

Layer 1 – The Stour near Hothfield
Layer 2 - The Stour near Sandwich
Layer 3 – The River Stour in Canterbury
Layer 4 – The little Stour 2007
Layer 5 – The Stour in Ashford

  • Now click “view” to read and view each of the resources in that layer.
  • To save any pupils work on your own computer right-click on the icon next to each entry.

  • Create Tables and spreadsheets using Excel
