Being Evacuated

After lunch the pupils in both the Key Stage 2 classes designed and made their own gas masks.

The pupils found information about how to design and make a Gas Mask box on the South-East Grid for Learning Evacuees microsite. Besides instructions on how to make a Gas Mask box pupils also used the site to:

• Listen to Interviews with members of The Medway Evacuee Association
• View photographs from the period
• Read children’s memories of being evacuated to Wales
• Click on links to other Evacuee websites
• Access the National Education Network Gallery
