The Key Stage 2 pupils prepared and e-mailed their questions about “The Blitz” and “Being Evacuated” to the Medway Association Evacuees in advance of the web conferences. These included:

• What were your reactions to meeting new people?
• Did you make friends with other evacuees?
• Were you crying when you left home?
• How old were you when you were evacuated?
• What was it like to meet new people and see new places?
• Who were your carers, what were they like?
• Did your Dad get sent to war?
• Was the Blackout bad?
• How long were you on the train for?
• Did you get hungry?
• Did you ever wear a gas mask?
• What do you think was the hardest thing about the war?
• What’s the closest you’ve ever been to a bomb?
• Did you have any friends you left behind?
• What was it like being away from your parents?
• Where did you get evacuated to?
• How did you feel when you knew you were going to be evacuated?
