QCA data handling units
Alternative tasks, with adjusted expectations

Helen Smith, Paul Newton and Sandra Patrick, NGfL Team

The materials on this page provide alternatives to the short focused and integrated tasks in Units 3C, 4D and 5B. Our aim has been to develop a step-by-step approach, guided by realistic outcomes and taking account of NNS. Integrated tasks are set in a choice of subject contexts. Wherever possible, we have included straightforward examples, which illustrate what is required but which may readily be modified.
NB All documents are Word 97.

Rationale
Suggested expectations for pupils achieving at Levels 2, 3 and 4

The activities provide alternatives: they do not have national status as replacements for QCA units. Schools are welcome to download these materials on the understanding that they are for trial only. Feedback will be welcomed: write to helen.smith@kent.gov.uk
