This list is provided to suggest good software that will support the QCA Scheme of work for Literacy at Key Stages 1 & 2. It is not mandatory and it is acknowledged that there are other software titles that will cover the scheme equally well.

The software offers an opportunity to use a CD-ROM to introduce and/ or consolidate non-fiction work in the Infant classroom.

Reading

2 Review (2Simple) KS1
2Review provides the option for book, television programme, outing, play, music, art or food reviews. The book reviews are sub-divided into fiction and non-fiction and offer topics such as horror, science fiction, adventure, animals, geography, science and history.
2 Developing Tray (2Simple) KS1-4
Developing Tray is a program designed to improve reading skills through developing reading strategies. The teacher chooses a piece of text for the child – from the large bank included with the program or a piece that has been created by the teacher. The text appears with missing letters that the child has to predict to complete the game.
