Differentiating the work

Planning

Our school is a thorough primary school of about 300 pupils. 4 classes in KS1 and 6 classes in KS2. There are three year 3/4 and three 5/6 classes. We have a Geography policy and long term plans to ensure continuity and progression through the P.O.S. of N.C Geography. We have adopted a two year rolling programme. As we have mixed ability and two year age range classes it is important that we consider differentiation in our medium and short term plans. St. Lucia was chosen as our study of a distant place for year 3/4 in cycle B as it could be linked with science topics on food, diet and teeth. To ensure that we had covered the programme of study we looked carefully at resources available.
