What main features can you see?
Do people live here?
Do you think many people visit
this place?
Can you find this picture on an

Ask a question of your own.

GROUP 4 PAIRED WORK GROUP 3 PAIRED WORK

Children devise their own investigation based on photo, planning what and how to investigate on field visit.

Teacher's expectation:
Is this a rural or urban area?
What is the traffic really like?
Is the area heavily populated?
Is the pond natural or man made?
What types of housing are there?
Are there any services or shops?
Can we find the place on the
aerial photo and OS maps?

Children decide what questions need to be answered to compile as much information as possible about the place.

Teacher's expectation:
Questions about the main features observed, housing types, use of pond, why water level is low, who uses the Green, locating photo on aerial photo.
