Tocuaro
A Mexican Village that is famous for its wooden masks.

Children will have a sound knowledge of aspects of life in Tocuaro such as homes, food and the surrounding countryside; use information from a variety of secondary sources; make comparisons between Tocuaro and their local area.

It is important to teach children about both rural and urban areas, to avoid perpetuating 'mud hut' stereotypes about developing countries like Mexico. The BBC have a very good mini website on Mexico city. See also some aerial photographs of Mexico city
