Navigable

'Navigable' means that a river is suitable for boats. Many rivers have become navigable because dams have been built. The water level of the river may then be controlled, making it deep enough for for ships and large boats. This has happened to the River Nile in Egypt. Cruise boats now travel up and down the Nile.
