Location of Rivers
home page

This section deals with the location of rivers on the local, national and global scales. This work principally involves map work and a series of Videos (published by the BBC and Zigzag).

Copies of Landmarks: Rivers Of the World and River Severn, with accompanying booklets, can be obtained by telephoning 0181 746 1111.

The videos may either be shown as a whole series one after the other, or can be shown with the relevant sections of this teacher planning section. For example, the Mississippi River video deals with aspects of flooding, and can be shown in this context. River Severn (Programme 4 - Water From The River) deals with water treatment and sewerage works, and could be shown with the section about how people use rivers and how they are cared for.
