Charlotte's Web
ICT Resources to support Literacy

Sharon Baker and Margaret Smith, Herne CE Junior School

The project teachers have developed a set of ICT resources to support the use of E.B. White's 'Charlotte's Web' in Literacy lessons. Although most of the Literacy objectives correspond with the Year 3 Programme of Study, some of the resources are suitable for older children.

These worksheets are designed for use on screen. They are ideal for a whole-class lesson in a networked suite. Each child may copy the original from a public folder into his/her own work area. ICT skills required are basic, although children will need to know how to select, cut and paste.

The resources have been created as templates in Microsoft Word 97. We strongly recommend that you save them first, and use them off line - see below. A copy of the original document is created each time a template is opened. When children save their work, they cannot overwrite the original.

To download a worksheet, click the link in the table below and wait for the page to be displayed. Next, click File > Save. Use your browser's Back button to return to this page.

NB If you try out any of the templates in the browser, bear in mind that you are changing the template. You are strongly advised to save first, then open in Word. This opens a copy of the original, preventing you from altering the template.
