Writing about models
A grid with pictures for children to write about a model they have made.
Children have already had experiences of finding their names by clicking
in the cell for their table colour. After writing their name they click
the 'back' button and are returned to this grid. They then complete
the sentence by clicking in the central cell and then choosing their
animal with help from the pictures.
How to make this grid yourself
Previous pages have explained
how to create a grid that links coloured cells to children's names.
To
insert a picture into a cell
Move the mouse over the cell where you want to insert a picture.
Hold down the shift key on the keyboard and click with the right
mouse button. The 'Cell Properties' dialogue box appears.
Type the text for the cell into the long
white box. If you have chosen a word that matches the title of
a picture in the Clicker 4 clip art library, then clicking the
'Instant Picture'
button will insert that clip art into your cell.
If there is no match, or you would like
to choose your own picture, click the 'Graphic...'
button. A window will open showing you the contents of a folder
called _CPL Graphics, which is inside the Clicker 4 main folder.
You can now browse the Clicker 4 clip art
library, which has a large number of folders containing pictures
in various categories.
If you need to insert an image that is not in the _CPL Graphics
folder, use the 'Up One Level' button to browse elsewhere on your
hard disk.
The picture will scale itself to fit in the
cell. If you want to have a picture without any text, simply delete
the text using the Cell Properties dialogue box.
