Introduction
Show the class the photographs taken of our Gurdwara. Explain that these are going up in the classroom with some text added to each photograph. Remind class how to copy and paste a photograph into a new Word document.
Ask children to suggest captions for each photograph. Demonstrate by adding text to a photograph.
Ask children to suggest how this work could be improved. Demonstrate, and remind children how the photograph can be resized, and font type and size altered.
Main activity
Set task for children, working in pairs, to select a photograph, cut and paste it into a new Word document and add some text to it. Support children in this task, and ask them for suggestions as to how the presentation of their work could be improved.
Plenary
With the whole class, look at print outs of completed work. Ask children for their opinion of each piece of work and whether it would be effective on display in the classroom.
