Databases

There are many opportunities in science where children are expected to sort, group and classify objects and animals

Ideas
Children could create and use database software to analyse data about:

  • types of food in school lunches
  • properties of materials
  • how materials change when heated or cooled
  • different types of animals and their habitats
  • plants
  • hair colour, eye colour, etc
  • properties of rocks such as hardness, colour, ability to mark paper, etc.
