Who has the most Effective Sunglasses?

Instructions

Layout the investigation ensuring that the LogIT, cardboard tube and the torch remain in the same position when the glasses are changed.

Switch on the datalogger with the Green start button.

Press the blue menu button twice until it says 'Press Green to start snapshot'.

Press the Green button immediately You should see it say 'Logging started'.

and then the display returns to normal.


The 'L' tells you that you are logging.

Press the Green button each time you take a snapshot - when each pair of sunglasses is placed in front of the cardboard tube. The display will display 'Storing readings' for a moment before returning to the normal display.

REMEMBER to take the reading without any sunglasses in front of the cardboard tube to act as a CONTROL!

Press the Red button when you have finished - it should then say 'Logging stopped'.

Connect the datalogger to the computer, using the white USB cable supplied.

Open the Logit software

Open the software

Press Fetch to see the bar graph.

The LogIT software then asks you which file you wish to fetch. It saves up to four different logs - always overwriting the oldest log. Make sure A is selected and click OK.

Your bar chart of all the snapshots will be displayed.

To look at the bar chart of just the light remove the ticks next to 'Sound Level' and Temperature' on the right hand side by clicking on them.

You will now need to click on the 'Auto Zoom' to look at the graph in more detail.

You can look at the table of results by clicking on 'Display Table' button.

The table of results will be displayed.
