Unit 6g:
Changing Circuits
See also our Changing Circuits page
Suggest ways of changing the brightness of a bulb in a circuit ; draw circuit diagrams and construct circuits from diagrams using conventional symbols ; set up a circuit which can be used to investigate an idea and use knowledge about electrical conductors and insulators to answer questions about circuits.
Direct2U Lesson Plan
Children use a computer simulation program to explore and change electrical
circuits. They will learn how changing the number or type of components in a
series circuit can make bulbs brighter or dimmer. The activity uses a simulation
that is freely available on-line at www.crocodile-clips.com
forum.ngfl.gov.uk
Use a sensor to measure the light intensity of a bulb when different amounts of length of wire are added to the circuit.
Powerpoint Resource - (Greenwich ICT)
Children record results of investigations using a video camera.
Investigate motors and switches using Roamer control pack and lego.
Children take images of components of circuits and diferrent circuit constructions.
