Unit 5b:
Life Cycles

Name and explain the functions of some parts of a flower - pollination, fertilisation ,seed dispersal and germination; living things need to reproduce to survive and recognise stages in the growth and development of humans.

Direct2U Lesson Plan
Children use a website to help learn about plant life cycles. A data collection sheet is supplied with this activity.

Direct2U Lesson Plan
In the context of a unit of work on Life Cycles, children play an on-line game from the BBC called Big Al. They will learn that animals may require different food and habitats at different stages in their life cycles. This activity was initially produced to support the television series Walking with Dinosaurs. It is an adventure game in which players take the role of a newly hatched dinosaur. www.bbc.co.uk/sn/prehistoric_life/games/big_al/
