One of the oldest educational Web sites but a very good example of how the visitor can interact with Web information. There are sections of the site for families, pupils and adult learners.

• A library of high quality images, which can be downloaded for personal study.
• 'Quest' is an on-line investigation into 12 of the museum's objects including crystals, lichen and butterflies.
• 'Voyages of Discovery' gives visitors a chance to understand the value of several pioneering scientific voyages.
